Rob Zombie/White Zombie - Geffen 8. Coal Chamber - Warners 9. Die Krupps - Warners 10.Pantera - Warners Yeah , way to stick it to the man. |
anyone who writes of top40 pop as garbage should try writing a top40 pop tune. it takes ridiculous skill to suck that much without making your head implode.

I mean, are my little doodles I draw in school just as good as Van Gough even though he invested passion and interest into his art (alot more that I do into mine)? If so then why do his painting sell for millions but I couldn't pay someone to take mine? Because that's what art is for, passion and expression and pop music defecates on that principal. Quote:

You really don't get it do you.
These record companies have marketing strategies that all end up with the same thing , sales. If they want to market a Rob Zombie or a Godsmack album to someone like you of course they won't do it the same way as a pop act , they push it in other ways so that make you , the gullible anti mainstream metal kid thinks 'wow these guys rock , they're not like all that pop sh*t that they push on me , i'll buy that instead' Seriously kid , there are a whole bunch of kids like you around who think that exact same way , and thats how those record companies make profits from that, in the exact same way they would from some little kid watching a Britney video on MTV. Teenage rebellion has always been one of the biggest money spinners around. |

YOU...DON'T...KNOW...ME I have NEVER liked a band on the idea of them being anti-conformist, all of the music I listen to I listen to because I genuinely enjoy thier music, and not ONCE did I find any of those bands on TV or or some mainstream facet, I found the bands I listen to with personal research, my dad's enormous CD collection, occasionally a friend will share a band he likes with me that I find to like myself. Then how come none of them are independent artists?

it's a very safe bet that the LARGE majority of mainstream music fans really don't care about the music so long as they can sing along to it. you want to think the music you listen to isn't corporate or contrived because it's not on the radio well, CQ and UH are providing ample examples that it's not the case. but for most people pop music is like a background soundtrack for their everyday lives. some people like to let it happen, others like to grab the wheel and chose their own path. neither is better than the other. it's not like metallica and pantera are bad bands, but when you can find their stuff at absolutely any record store you're not going to convince anyone that it's not mainstream. just accept that you like mall metal. |
