Adam And The Ants
But only because they were once a decent post punk band.

possibly Urban.
But guess who rejected adam from punk and told him to wear the get up he wore??? I know, I am going to be lynched online but honestly it is true. Malcolm. I swear it is true. You walked into that one Urban!!! But steve strange does have a weak claim. |

Rejected him from punk?
What happened was none of the stuff Westwood & McLaren did with him was working & they were dropped from their record label. So he got a new band & started fresh. McLaren had absolutly zero to do with the Adam & The Ants that became successful. And I think you'll find Steve Strange had EVERYTHING to do with the start of the new romantics considering anybody who was anybody in that scene came from his Blitz club

Ah ha ha. Do you buy them in $2 bookshops? Urban you are wrong on so many facts. Maybe you read websites made by people in Korea!! Maclaren told him to f off and told him to wear these clothes vivian was making and he did. I know the songs etc were his though. Steve Strange could have played a hand in the beginning like creating a few flyers and getting a premises. I see what you mean, he did play a role in the movement. But Adam probably made others do it too. I mean, duran duran proably saw him n tele and thought okay guys, lets ditch this and do this instead. Urban you are fast becoming the musical equivilant of George Bush. i don't doubt your beliefs but your info is really poor in research. |

Maybe you should do your research
Mclaren took Adam's entire band & formed Bow Wow Wow leaving him on his own. He rebuilt the band , started a new direction & signed to CBS. If you are just going to make stupid jokes to anyone who disagrees with you then why are you even here to debate anything. It's not like you accept others might have a point.

You do have a point urban.
I am only messing. Was steve strange the svengali who started all that movement where s ballet played in London? I know you are right I was just saying that lots of people run clubs but not all movements become nationwide. Adam made the journos brand it and magazines look for a name etc. Do you see? I am only been funny don't take it too seriously. You are right about strange but adam did make it nationwide when he burst on the scene. He is the first pop star I remember in my life. Everyone as kids done prince charming dance. then came culture club and duran duran. But the best I think is Adam. |
