Ryan Cabrera
I've really gotten into his work as of late, and I found it extremely ironic as I'm really not into the "pure" pop scene at all; I've listened to artists/musicians who've either been more primarily involved with another genre and/or have their musical essence basically represent an amalgam of themes I suppose with pop being one of the mix (the most notable examples of these ideas are Duncan Sheik and Vertical Horizon). But with this said, Ryan Cabrera doesn't fall into either of those groups, despite the fact that I've already conveyed, I think his stuff is great. Does anyone else have a rather novel take similar to mine regarding his music?
On what's appealing, I think on a musical level in itself his stuff is at least of intermediate composition that's worlds greater than many of his contemporaries, and tops a lot of big name alternative ensembles too. He's also a really great vocalist, so it's not to say that my like of him is only rooted in the superficiality of his music, I've analyzed it as best as possible ha ha. Anyway, discuss! |
