I love Adele and I think she's extremely talented as a artist. Amy is great as well but I personally like Adele, although, I'm also into what's on the radio since I am a pop recording artist.

I actually do think she's a fairly fantastic artist. A good friend of mine who has completely shunned anything mainstream...well, I made a mix CD and put "Someone Like You" on said disc. It fit into its section quite perfectly, and he finally commented on it and said, "That song with the chick singing...where she's depressed about the duded leaving her...she has one of the best voices I've ever heard."

He had no idea it was Adele.

He is now completely thrown asunder by the concept of popular music not completely sucking the life out of anything else.

Adele has a beautiful voice, your friend is right. It's powerful too. I just wish she wasn't played on the radio so much for the simple fact they end up getting played out and I end up sick of hearing them

Her voice is stunning, but I really don't care for her songs on the latest album (production to lyrics), however, her first album has top notch production at times.

She makes me miss the other lady that captivated audiences with her amazing voice. Amy Winehouse was way more interesting than Adele.

I don't know if they make the same music or anything (what I've heard from Adele even makes the inner-soccer mom in me screech) but it seems like she's filled into the mold left by Amy. Previously it seemed they had tried to fill the void with a different bloated lady, Duffy:
