How can emo have died in the 80's when there are still many emo bands out there?
I mean Sunny Day came out in like 94' or something and you have them on your list.
Your "friend" is a hypocrite.

The Emo around in the 90s (bands such as SDRE, Jets to Brazil, etc.) is Post-Emo, therefore it's still tied to Emo.

True. Most of the stuff Sunny Day Real Estate does is post-emo.
But the fact of the matter is there are a lot more emo/emocore/hardcore emo bands that not many people on here mentioned.

Bloodlined Calligraphy
Circle Takes the Square
City of Caterpiller
Coulier
I Would Set Myself on Fire for You
Saetia
Still Life

Those are just a few larger ones (excluding Coulier) that have all (I believe) of their stuff in the 90's.

A lot of music today is cross over due to the commercial factor. There's hundreds of music genres out there... all those sub-genres, wtf?! Music is full of people's opinions. Someone may think MCR arn't emo (personally, i couldn't give a **** if they are or not) and others will think they are. I'd probably go with the cross over idea. And due to the fact they've just broke mainstream, they're going a pop/rock route, no?

nope. it wasn't because of the bans. i decided to change my name a few times. i left behind my Hardcore_Guy account because hardcore blows ass. and you shouldnt be talking about that, i've seen you get banned and come back with the account name "blitzkriegbop" or something like that.
