I find them to be overrated. Their cover of "Desolation Row" was atrocious.

They're already looked down upon, so it's difficult to consider them overrated.

And did you like the original Desolation Row?

They have a pretty big legion of loyal fans. I knew a dozen kids that were constantly listening to "I brought you my bullets", and they were big advocates of the genius of MCR. Anymore, they're revered by the same young girls that comprise the Twilight fanbase.

But Yeah, I loved the original version. It's a great, and while I get what MCR was trying to accomplish, especially with the quasi-punk flare they tried to incorporate into the song, I feel that Dylan's original was better. That's not to say that there aren't better versions of it waiting to be done....I mean, Hendrix's "All Along the Watchtower" puts Dylan's version from "John Wesley Harding" to shame.

Dylan admitted that himself. But other than G&R's cover of "Knockin' on Heaven's Door", I feel like the My Chemical Romance cover was the worst Dylan cover I've ever heard.

I feel like MCR's cover was one of the worst covers in general that I've ever heard. xD

heh Yeah, next to the time I saw the Deftones play "Say it Aint So".

But I saw Weezer play "Unbreak my Heart" by Toni Braxton once. That was a great cover.

Wow. I love Desolation Row, it's one of my top Dylan songs. But I didn't think the cover was that bad honestly.

I think they're alright, but I'm not majorly into them in a big way or anything... I found it kinda funny someone on this board said they're fairly unknown... but they got MTV and VH1 exposure, so they really aren't that small or terribly unknown...
