Probably one of my first music loves. MCR faces a lot of critisism, but they really set the stage for a lot of good stuff to happen. The music videos kinda freak me out (except Helena, I love that one!) but if you watch any interviews with Gerard you can be pretty impressed I'd say. He says some really unexpected things mixed in with all the things you'd expect him to say.

They are THE emo band. love all of their music.

Gerard would be pissed if he heard you call them emo.

Emo fans would be pissed if they heard you call them emo.

They're pop punk and if you take them for that they are enjoyable.

I thought The Black Parade was really good at parts.

It's my fave tbh.
I hate the first album and the second is mediocre on further listens.
Then again this isn't a band you should listen to constantly and expect it to grow on you any.

Agreed.

They aren't punk either, though. I'm not good with genres, at all. But I absolutely know they aren't punk. And I've never heard any of the bands that were truly considered emo, but considering MCR emo because they have emotional lyrics? Not so much.

That's not true. Many diehard fans loved the album BECAUSE they were diehard fans.

lolz gunnels, pop-punk is almost as misused as emo. They're far from either. Anyay, if they could combine the sound from their first and thrid albums, it would probably be my favorite album ever.
