Well punk is a form of rock anyways and they judging by sound they may have some punkish influences. I actually read in an old rolling stones article Gerard (singer) was inluenced greatly by iron maiden and that he despised his band being labeled emo cause in his words "emo is ****."...which didn't come across to me but he said it. All in all i'd classify them as power emo. Just made that up but maybe it'll catch huh?

No, they call themselves metal, but they aren't. I don't know what they were thinking.
The Black parade is an okay album, have you heard any of their other stuff? |
