Default Gary Numan

Anyone like him? He's pretty good for a listen. He probably has the most well known synthpop song "Cars"

There was some great tracks on his live double album White Noise. I would love to give it a listen to see if it holds up. I have'nt heard it for about 15 years now.

Preferred him with Tubeway Army.
Had a novelty value at the time, but some of his stuff was actually pretty good.

Only if you plug them into the mains.

He was original...ish.
I'll give him that.

My abiding memory of Gary Numan, wasn't him, but the Gary Numan lookalike wannabe that used to frequent a local teen disco.

He would always be on his own and never spoke to anyone.
His only purpose was to wait for 'Cars' to be played by the DJ (especially for him) and he would dance robotically with a deadpan face and a large crowd would gather round to watch.
Talk about a fanboy.
He was the first lad I saw wear eyeliner.

And he's the only person I've seen get his head kicked in without blinking.

haha always makes me think of the mighty booooosh when I hear Gary Numan now, but cars is a good tune. Didn't sugababes sample one of his songs too?

Yeah, they did a version of Adina Howard's 'Freak Like Me' mixed with 'Are Friends Electric'.

David Bowie and Jarvis Cocker are known fans of his, but IMO he's a better musician than he is a pilot...which isn't saying much.

Didn't he crash a plane or a helicopter once?
