Default Your Favorite Pop Music, Band/Artist From the 80s ?

I liked the UK, etc. Pop music of the 80s. Howard Jones, The Cure, A Flock Of Seagulls, Tears For Fears, etc. I will add some other favorites to the list later. Just to many favorite bands to name all at once. What is some of your favorite pop music, from the 80s?

Hard choice, but if I had to chose, I would shoot myself in the head rather than listening to any of them.

The Cure and The Smiths are not pop bands to me. Ask any people who grew up in the 80's who are now in middle aged dotage listening to Phil Collins and Katie Meula etc (NOT ME BTW!) and they would never name those as pop bands. They would not class them as mainstream. Yes they sold a lot of records and had hits but not pop music in the traditional sense.

Morrissey described the Smiths as a pop band frequently and after staying up late watching several documentaries I have to concur.

Yeah a few bands do. It's more my nitpicking than anything else. When I categorise music I would'nt be able to bring myself to put them and The Cure next to TEARS FOR FEARS par example.

I wouldn't like to put anyone next to Tears For Fears.

Hardly used since 1999.
