Imagination is a pretty good album, despite all the critics say. It sounds a bit like That's Why God Made the Radio, but with more upbeat lyrics.

Unless it sounds like the last three tracks of That's Why... then I'm not interested. Everything else was just too much of the early Beach sound with very 80s sheen production.

As long as there is a season called Summer the Beach Boys will be relevant.

Random interjection: I always found the relationship between the Beach Boys and Charles Manson interesting.

I love the Beach Boys. I'll take Pet Sounds over anything the Beatles ever released, personally. I think Wilson was/is a genius. I'm not a huge fan of surf rock/pop but even those albums are pretty dang good.

Pet Sounds is just .. great .. amazing. The harmonies. Everything.

This is one album, and band I've never gotten tired of.

I would put the worst Beatles over anything by the beach brothers but to each his own.

Don't get me wrong I like the Beatles, and I'm not trying to take anything away from them. And I would say they had more good albums, but I Pet Sounds is more enjoyable than anything the Beatles released. As you said though, to each his own. I enjoy both bands!

Smile blows pretty much everything out of the water IMO. The only album I compare to it is what's goin on but on merits that smile established.
