I'm really digging Strange Mercy which is weird because i usually don't like music as poppy as this. Her fuzzed out guitar riffs definitely make the album for me.

I dislike the chorus in this song, but when the verse comes in with full instrumentation it completely makes up for it.

I wasn't too impressed with Strange Mercy at first, but after listening to it a couple of times times today it started to click. It's good enough I guess, doesn't seem as good as Actor but I agree that the fuzzy guitars sound pretty cool. I don't know where it ranks alongside other new albums I've heard this year but time will probably tell.

Ah! New album? I had no idea...I need to check this out.

I started with Actor and actually prefer it to Marry Me. I think she does some really creative stuff on Actor...maybe some of it doesn't pan out completely but I think there is definitely more creativity there. Marry Me sounded a bit safe. Good, but safe.

Going to check out this new album now...

Since this got bumped, if any St. Vincent fans haven't seen her set at Pitchfork Paris, I highly recommend it:

Of particular note is the 13-minute sonic destruction of the set's closer, "Your Lips Are Red."
