I have few songs I like. Won't vote too well on them, but won't give them a negative one either.

Larkrise 07-20-2007 06:25 PM

Too corny for me.

littledude 07-20-2007 07:39 PM

august and everything after was a great album. i havent heard anything from them since except a song they did for shrek 2.

MHDTV 08-14-2007 05:04 PM

Their 4th best. Still amazing though.

cmusiclives 08-27-2007 10:19 AM

"August and Everything After" is definitely on my short list for CDs to play hanging out late night drinking beers with friends.

jacklovezhimself 08-27-2007 03:19 PM

well first i pressed the fourth one because I saw the word corn.....i like corn......and then i saw counting crows......and i hate crows........especially counting them

Raine 08-27-2007 05:14 PM

I wasn't aware this band was still making music.
This band makes isn't something I willingly listen to.

TheBig3 08-27-2007 08:15 PM

I saw them Friday night and with the exception of Mr. Jones, they were pretty damned good. Their stage antics are atrocious and I find them to be largely less than they once were but they played some things from the new album and it sounded rather good.

TroubleBunch 09-20-2007 04:26 AM

Everything after "This Desert Life" has been a big disappointment for me. Even that one was just pretty good, whereas the first two albums were great! I think they really lost me when they did Shrek.

stakeraiser 09-20-2007 11:09 AM

these guys were big when I was in college, I could tolerate the first 2 albums

Back when people still bought cds, the used cd store always had a lot of August and Everything After on clearance, they would sell them, buy them back, over and over

ProggyMan 02-07-2008 12:55 AM

New single's alright.

Lizzie 02-07-2008 01:11 AM

Terrible, they annoy me

Nosmada 02-07-2008 10:35 AM

I like the counting crows alot, their lyrics are good with a good sound, one thing i cant take is duritz dancing in Mr. Jones video.

Farfisa 02-07-2008 06:25 PM

I have never really listened to 'em......ive only heard one of their songs sooo i really cant say i hate 'em or love 'em

Dr_Rez 06-10-2008 11:45 PM

Just curious do people like Disc 1 or 2 on there new album?

TheBig3 06-11-2008 10:27 AM

I havn't picked it up yet. Is it worth it?

Thier touring with Maroon 5. I think I might see how the prices are. Weird line up though, no?

Alfred 06-11-2008 03:12 PM

They sound a fair bit like The Wallflowers. That = awesome.

I don't listen to them much though.

Maroon 5 I wouldn't mind seeing. They're live acoustic set is decent. Disc 2 is much better, certainly. They're hit and miss with their 'rockers'.

What other covers do they have?

ProggyMan 06-11-2008 10:07 PM

Friend Of The Devil, Big Yellow Taxi.
Edit: NVM

TheBig3 06-12-2008 08:47 AM

They cover Aimee by the marshall tucker band very well. They've got more than they let on I think.

thatsa great cover,.....

personally, my fav cc song,....raining in baltimore

Nosmada 06-12-2008 10:42 PM

My fave Counting Crows song by far is Mrs Potters Lullaby.

ProggyMan 06-12-2008 11:39 PM

Great song. Personally nothing matches Colorblind.

TheBig3 06-13-2008 11:12 AM

I think "Rain King" is brilliant.

the_dp 06-15-2008 03:03 PM

Long December is their best song to me. It makes me melancholy and happy at the same time. I think the dude sings just like Bob Seger and Bruce Springsteen, but that isn't a bad thing in my book.

WWWP 06-17-2008 10:44 PM

I love Counting Crows with every essence of my being.

Dr_Rez 06-18-2008 12:40 AM

I give myself to you from the essence of my being
and I Sing to my god these songs of love and healing.

Oh my lanta. I love you. I saw him last summer.

icebox 06-18-2008 08:35 PM

Besides the fact that there was some old, drunk, sweaty guy humping my leg from behind, it was fantastic. I was right in the front row.

mamanuthead 06-19-2008 08:36 AM

I like some of the songs but Adam Duritz is a bit whiny for my taste. A Long December was pretty good the first few times but the na na na na's get on my nerves. The song "Accidentally in Love" from the Shrek movie makes me wanna punch something.

ProggyMan 06-19-2008 08:53 PM

Most of their big hits are pretty mediocre I have to say. But then you have songs like Omaha, Rain King, Mrs. Potter's Lullaby, A Long December, Colorblind...

/facepalm

I hate to come off as some of the more egregious people who mandate their opinion be law, but does this not smack of elitism that you hate their hits but find the deep cuts great?

I mean why don't you just come out and say the radio is more musical retards? I'm not saying you can't dislike some radio hits, but to hate them all?

Just to clarify, which ones do you think are mediocre?

ProggyMan 06-21-2008 03:12 PM

By their big hits I mean Mr. Jones and the song from the Shrek Soundtrack, whatever it's called.
