Anyone know/like her? She began on trip-hoppy electronica but formed it into folk music with her later albums. I saw her live with another good folk band "Island Line".

She sang the theme song to the LOTR film The Two Towers entitled "Gollum's Song".

She's quite possibly my favourite artist. Her best songs in my opinion are Dead Things, Today Has Been OK, Heartstopper, Fisherman's Woman (My favourite song), and Bleeder.

I love her song 'Jungle Drum' but haven't heard anything else from her, nor am I familiar with any of her albums. I'll have to check her stuff out!

I have Love in the Time of Science and it's excellent but unfortunately the scene is so saturated with similar artists that many get forgotten along the way. She's definitely worth checking out if you are into female vocalists though.

Whoa. I didn't even realize there might have been a thread on her. Figured she was just one of those fallen-between-the-cracks artists...

Anyway, Fisherman's Woman gets a lot of play from me. I second The Hammer, definitely worth a try if you're considering it...

Hmmm, well if you liked the album "Fisherman's Woman"

you might like the album that is roughly the same age but is more folk'ish: "After the rain" by the Icelandic Gröndal

or a newer album (2008) by the Icelandic: Dísa (search: "Dísa+temptation" on youtube)

I ADORE Emiliana Torrini. I still listen to the "Love in the Time of Science" album on a regular basis. Beautiful stuff.
