The Ordinary Boys

Is it just me or does their song 'Boys Will Be Boys' rawk really hard? It's been in my CD player a lot lately, and its been one of my favourite songs of the year so far.

Mrs Sensitive 02-18-2006 04:01 AM

I really, really hate this band.

TrampInaTux 02-18-2006 04:03 AM

I haven't heard any other songs from them apart from one, and that weren't to good. But I do really like this song. It's really catchy and fun, apart from the bit with the Jamaican guy. That doesn't make any sense.

Urban Hat€monger ? 02-18-2006 08:53 AM

Can`t stand the Ordinary Boys

Can`t stand Lady Sovereign either

Which makes it rather odd that I like the song they did together:confused:

ladyluckrules 02-18-2006 10:01 AM

Maybe two wrongs do make a right after all.

I hate it when people decide they like The Ordinary boys because they've
just seen 'celebrity' big brother and they think "preSton iz WEll fit lIKE".

Sneer 02-18-2006 11:13 AM

over the counter culture and brassbound are two of the worst albums ive heard in the past 2 years. if you want a new band that does the whole mod thing with taste then listen to the rifles.

I quite like the Rifles

They`ll always be The Trotters to me though

Sneer 02-18-2006 11:25 AM

saw them supporting the subways and they impressed me quite a bit

Urban Hat€monger ? 02-18-2006 11:27 AM

Did you not see them on Soccer AM being managed by Barry ?

thepopethatsme 02-27-2006 09:42 AM

i think its crap

did you start listening to it when they got popular?

TrampInaTux 02-27-2006 10:06 AM

Yeah I did-but I've only heard 2 of their songs and only one is any good. I've said before I don't see what's wrong about liking a band when they were popular. As long as like them what's the difference about liking them before they were popular or after?

EXACTLY what I was going to say.
I almost feel like saying
'They DID have a whole album before boys will be boys & Preston went in the BB house'
Gah.

That's exactly why I like the Ordinary Boys, because Preston is well fit like.

Yes, I also hate it when people only decide they like a band after they've heard their music for the first time. I liked the Ordinary Boys long before I heard any of their music, before I even knew they existed. I liked them before they even formed. Everybody who started liking them after me is just a big loser.

In seriousness, I do like the Ordinary Boys, although Preston's voice isn't the best.

Imonlydancing 03-05-2006 12:21 PM

^ Some of that made no sense.
But yeah, he doesn't have the best voice & their style has changed lots since 'over the counter culture'

lyricalgirl 03-07-2006 05:56 AM

preston is fit i thought he was fit since i saw the 9 to 5 remix the ordinary boys did with lady sov

Friday 03-09-2006 11:03 AM

I saw The Ordinary Boys as support for Paul Weller a good while before BB . Preston sold his integrity down the river when he first entered the Big Brother house though.

The Rifles > The Ordinary Boys

The Rifles have that Jam spirit that we all want to see again , though they wont match the lyrics of Paul Weller.

Urban Hat€monger ? 03-09-2006 11:05 AM

What integrity?

Friday 03-09-2006 11:08 AM

Good point. And to think Terry Hall liked them. * shakes head in disguist *

percy333 03-12-2006 06:24 AM

i like them!

Liam2004967 08-24-2006 05:03 PM

This band are wicked imo and despite being accused of being an unoriginal band I still recon their one of the best around today!

swim 08-24-2006 07:44 PM

I like them but, they were never shoved down our throats here so maybe that has something to with it.

Piss Me Off 08-25-2006 04:16 AM

First album: Pretty good.
Second album: Terrible.

Nightfreak 09-11-2006 03:28 PM

The first album is great, I got so much more of a message from the lyrics and a feeling from the music than the second, but the second is quite good as well.

jackhammer 07-03-2007 03:16 PM

Their most recent album is'nt bad at all (HOW TO GET EVERYTHING...), as they have seemed to have dropped some of their rock influences and expanded on a different sort of groove. Only downside is that it has possibly one the worst tracks ever recorded-I LUV YOU.
