Default Is Taylor Swift mediocre?

Is Taylor Swift mediocre? It is this phrase that I have been seeing quite often on the Internet lately. But I don't care about those who think so. Those who write this are just jealous of her. She is young, talented and beautiful. She has a large number of awards and achievements. She is worthy of love and admiration. And I treat her work with love and respect. And those who don't love her probably only love themselves! And we hope that she will continue to delight us with her songs!

I would leave these questions to the professionals, it's not been mathematically proven yet, and the historical merit shows that public discussions on such subjects rarely result in useful conclusions

is it possible that people love her image more than her sound or that they love the idea of her?

My age has allowed (forced?) me to see many hyped acts over the years. Something bigger is always around the corner.

It's not unusual for people to question if somebody 'deserves' to be as popular as they are. I try not to dwell on it, I just try to avoid it.

Good, bad and mediocre musicians are in the eye of the beholder--or is it ear of the beholder in this instance? I can only speak for myself. Ms. Swift is undeniably talented. But with the exception of a couple of songs (one of them, All Too Well, is really good--the extended version justifies its length), I don't find her work all that interesting. Then again, I'm too old to be in her "demographic", so I'm not the intended audience.
