Popularity is a garbage way to establish an artist's quality because of the many superior ways to do so. Even though brilliant artists can be popular, terrible artists have also been consistently popular which soils popularity as a quantifier for objectively approaching a subjective medium like a dumbass. It is very straightforward and you are a slave to culture to be so confused by it.
I'd say let me know when you want to agree or something but I'd rather you just leave.
