It's ok. Sort of interesting as an experiment but most likely something I'd skip past most of the time.

Then you remember that this is his 3rd album on this idea and you realize that Neil needs a new meme.

This is the only album I've heard by him so I have no idea what you're talking about.

His whole discography is All Star mashups.

I meant the whole "turning YMCA into a dramatic song" thing.

I thought you were talking about the record as a whole.

Neil still needs a new gimmick though.

I've given this album several spins now so I have a clearer opinion on it now than I did before. I think the best tracks are the ones with the most going on, like "Annoyed Grunt" which is probably my favorite song on the album. They're more sonically interesting and more clever than the other tracks. Some of the tracks that just mashup two songs are entertaining but I think I'm going to get tired of them pretty quickly. And some of them are already blah—like "Mouth Pressure", which manages to make both a great song and a mediocre song pretty bad by combining them, and "Bustin", which actually just ends up sounding like a pointless remix version of "Ghostbusters".

I totally agree that the best tracks are the ones that are super dense. With the exception of The End, which AFAIK is just 2 tracks (though he maybe messed with the vocals?).

Top for me:

The Starting Line
Annoyed Grunt
The End
Wow Wow
Shit
