Default Excision - Codename X

Brostep/Complextro songs usually have a very similar structure for building up hype, similar to a chorus or mid-riff in an electronic dance song. I know for a fact that this is one of the reasons why brostep is very unpopular and often panned. Then I had an epiphany: Criticizing it for thst would be like criticizing THE SAME SIMPLE BEAT in every reggae song. So, I don't do it to be fair.

Codename X does this often, but it puts a lot of focus on rhythms and riffs so that the album uses its predictability to make something much more enjoyable, cancelling out the bad for some good. Although the structures are generic, the rhythms themselves are unconventional. Also, the production was brilliant, but that's expected from an Excision release. All in all, I'd say this was a perfect brostep album. It proved my theory that any genre can have an amazing release. Of course, it would take a dubstep fan to see it.
