Good album, not really my cup of tea, but it's still a lovely album for the 1st listen.
Definetly going to listen to it again, maybe i will get more into it then!

3/5

I think people want to think it's smart like Kid A or something but isn't it really just the same old same old same old?

I think it's just about the least repetitive album I've ever heard. Sure, there are common refrains, but there are always well placed intricacies that constantly keep me involved and interested. If you enjoy dense, headphone-centric electronic, it doesn't really get better than this.

The only repetitive track tracks on this album are Aisatsana and 180db, the latter obviously the weakest on the album, but it was more in vain of 90's electronic like mentioned.

Schoenberg forgoes repetition.

The two tracks I never listen to. They aren't what I'm looking for when I listen to Aphex Twin, and they aren't particularly well done either.

I love Aisatsana, especially the pauses where you can hear the sounds bouncing around the piano. The relation between the notes and the low bass note at the end gives me chills. It's even more wicked when it's played via a swinging midi piano.

This edged out St. Vincent as my album of the year. I'm a huge fanboy, so take that with a grain of salt, but aside from 180db, this is perfection (and even that cut has its merits, however slim). Aisatsana took me completely by surprise and I'm in love with it. It's so gorgeous!

Suzy Ecto by Call Super is probably a good album to check out by people who like Syro.

I think it's more interesting myself but that's not the point.

I guess we are different types of listeners. That album is solid but Syro is like top 10 albums all time for me.
