|
Good things confirmed!
|
Right on! . Will listen soon, I'm currently involved in listening to the Replacements for the first time, but I will get back to you.

It's album time, it's album time, it's album time, it's album time, it's album time.

I listened to I wanna say half of the album (sorry for slacking guys, forgive? : ( ), around "Delorean Dynamite," and it was some bomb shit. It was a little slow in its start, but the whole thing is so damn fluid, the beats are insanely tight, and the synth work is unbelievable. It's got a very modern dance groove to it (no not dubstep since that is kinda huge but the more house-ish stuff real ravish type places play (ours only play hip hop and lady gaga and all her friends), and my girlfriend grew up hearing both retro and modern dance music, and loves that 70s disco scene so I put "Strandbar" and "Delorean Dynamite" at the center of her mix. I think she's gonna dig the hell out of it.
That synth work is too good though. "Delorean Dynamite" is so 70s space launch scene in science class sounding, but in a way rad-ass sexy way. That shift right at the last minute (literally) got me even on the second time hearing it. |
I'm in love with Preben Goes To Acapulco. At first it weirds you out but it's pretty brilliant. Psychedelic!
And of course, Inspector Norse, but I had been exposed to it beforehand. It's got me hooked like many a Daft Punk track, it's so tight and there's always that extra kick or whatever to keep the ear entranced. The whole thing is just well made though. Kinda strange how this is his first album; he's been recording for a decade. I suppose he wanted to do it right? PS: I love that album art, especially the undefined keyboard edges. |
Maybe he didn't want to really do it. It's been a great album, as you've said it is extremely tight but you really don't have to have an album these days, but he's the specials exception that's made a really good one doing his thing.
