I really like their heavy sound so I was wondering maybe I wouldn't like their ambient sound or I might like both who knows. I was just curious.

There's no way for me to put into words about whether you should listen to the other albums. My personal favorites are Talk.. and Valtari and even Takk.. has some heavier songs on it. My only point was this album caught me by surprise.

I don't know if I wanted you to try to tell me if I should listen to them or not. I most likely would but I was just asking if I would be put off by them. I guess you wouldn't really know that either. I might start from Takk and work my way backwards through the ones that you have mentioned.

I was a huge fan of Sigur Ros up through Takk. After that album, everything just kind of started blending together for me. Their 2 follow ups were good, don't get me wrong...they just really needed a change that was a bit more drastic. I think Kveikur was definitely the right directions to go. It's way more percussive and they are taking a few more risks this time around and for the first time in 3 albums, I'm finding myself actually really getting in the mood for Sigur Ros. I think having Brennisteinn as the opener was the perfect way to let the listener know they aren't ****ing around this time...by Isjaki, I'm fully invested in the album. What a song. The album is up there with Agaetis Byrjun for sure.

Who knew all they needed was a few more drums?

I agree it doesn't bore me as much
