I guess there isn't anything wrong with the medium itself, I just haven't heard it used in a way that I enjoy or noticed that it was auto-tune when I did enjoy it. It's kind of hard to miss, though.
I like the album for the most part. The production is quality and what earns the album a place in my listening schedule. I gave the album a three because I'm not a huge fan of Kanye's emceeing, but that could possibly end up growing on me.

If I can't tell it's used, it doesn't bother me. It's when people use it for that stereotypical autotune sound (like a vocoder) that I can't stand it. I honestly have a hard time believing that people find that cool enough to still use today.

I only care what the music sounds like in my ears, whatever means has been used to create it is of no concern of mine.
Obviously I also hate shitty auto-tune, just like I hate listening to other shit attempts at making music.

Before, what you said, and correct me if you worded this wrong too but you kind of repeated it here, was that he showed he's a stereotypical black by being ignorant as he is. And that it's too bad that he's not conforming to the stereotypes you have of NONE black people being successful and influential. That's what it sounds like to me, reading it aloud. |

I've never listened to much Kanye just because I'm lazy about listening to hip hop, but I've been hearing this album in my friend's car recently and I think it's more that he's self-consciously projecting the ultimate egomaniacal rapper persona. Obviously there are enough of people who try to do this than you can shake a stick at, but they're not doing it to make the same satirical artistic statement as Kanye. At least that's how I see it.
