I like it, but I'm not seeing how (based on the two singles, mind you) that this is a stark divergence from his early work. There seems to be a more "active" harmony, and a weirder pacing that does tend to pitch it in a more sinister (as opposed to creepy) direction than usual.

Still, I don't know that I'm seeing this as much different than Yorke's work from HTTT forward.

I agree with big3. I like it, but i think yorke's previous risks leave much to be desired out of an album with AFP's lineup in it. It's cool and all, but it's not very groundbreaking, which is something it seems guys like yorke were put on earth to do.

Nobody i guess... I guess i've just come to expect a sort of metamorphosis with every new album he releases. I dont know, it could be just me, but it's one of the things i really admire about him. Dont get me wrong, it's not like i think he's burning out or something. It just feels like a bit of a dud to me. That being said, that track judge jury and executioner is hella rad. Great rhythm. I also really like the character of his claps... Weird as that may be. They're just so damn crisp.

Just because it isn't a new direction, doesn't mean it's not an excellent album though. I see this as a steady progression from his previous work, so I'll take it for what it is.

i just went on a big giant walk and listened to it twice... and although i don't retract my previous statement, i do have to say that it was perhaps based on expectations, and that's not really fair or very open-minded. i love this album.

Sounds okay to me. When they released 'Default' as a single I had high hopes for this but the rest of the album doesn't seem quite as good. That said it's not a bad album and definitely better than the last Radiohead album. It does kind of feel like The King Of Limbs part two but done better. While there is an interesting use of electronics on certain tracks the album on a whole fails to keep my attention. A third listen might reveal more though.
