I've got 2 Tame Impala albums including this one (don't have their first). Love the sound of the band, though I do agree it runs the risk of getting repetitive if they do any more albums with this same sound.
Mind Mischief is awesome! EDIT: And yes, all their songs sound roughly like the Beatles' Rain, She Said She Said and maybe a few other Lennon-sung tracks from Revolver and maybe Magical Mystery Tour. Yet there's still a freshness about it. That said, if they don't start doing something different their next album it'll get stale.

I just remembered this song today.
It almost sounds like the same guy singing! Just with slightly different sound effects. EDIT: This is the most obvious one I think.

And - crap, I almost hate to admit this - but as much as I love those Lennon/Beatles tunes, I almost think I like the Tame Impala song a bit better. It's a bit livelier.
Not that I think Tame Impala has a snowball's chance of equaling the Beatles, mind you, but at least for this specific type of song, I think they've done a good job of taking a formula and improving on it maybe just a wee bit. EDIT: The first Lennon song is a bit more structurally complex than the Tame Impala song, and a bit more interesting. Probably a better piece of songwriting by Lennon. Maybe in a few years the Aussie band can match it. Will be interesting to watch this band.

BTW, until I read the lyrics online a short while ago, I thought the opening line to It's Not Meant to Be was, "I won't inhale."
![]() In fact, listening to it even after reading the lyrics, I could *swear* he's trying to make "I wanted her" sound like "I won't inhale" as much as he can get away with!

Mind Mischief - acoustic! Sounds very mellow this way.
