I think it's one of the better albums I've heard in a long long time. I've been so used to an album having on average 2-3 really great songs that I still get surprised when one of those songs on Lonerism ends and the next one is just as good.

Out of curiosity...what are you guys thinking of when you say there is better stuff going on these days?

Never said that, but it does things that the stuff from the old days couldn't do. This is coming from a fanatic of 60's music from the psych era.

I love 60's psych as well and still think these guys have officially move past an homage and are now making something all their own.

So...top 5 psych albums? I'm sure there's a thread for it, but since this is a psych album and we are on the subject...I'm curious.

All those albums are great...the new Yeasayer needs a few more listens to sink in for me. Field Music is good but it's different. The new Grimes is superb in the first half but then trails off while Lonerism is solid the whole way through. Miike Snow is catchy but not nearly as fulfilling.

I like Apocalypse Dreams might be the best song they have ever done. Same goes to Sun's Coming Up. And I am including all the music they did before their first album as well, which was also great.

thought that album was a bit messy. Some tracks were great but overall, I prefer their previous album.

On first listen I wasn't too gone on it either, but it has far surpassed the first album for me now, which is strange because the first album defined 2010 for me, it really had an impact on me.

I think there is just much more going on in Lonerism. It took a couple listens to really click for me. Innerspeaker was definitely more immediate.
