I don't think so. They might put out an average record, who knows, but I doubt that the new fame they have is going to make them fail.

As you hinted at, Odd Future are not quite the same in that they seemed to be making music that was there to appeal to kids and people who wanted an alternative take of what the mainstream is already giving them. (in a broad sense)

Death Grips, on the other hand, are making music for themselves. They have been lucky enough to blow up big time and maybe the sound is a fad, but I don't think that takes away from how great their music is.
