Well you're a lot more productive than I and I. it's all mental action and reward for me. But i think that's one of Radiohead's strengths, to, if not put you in the specific situation, at least conjure up such vivid feelings in you.
Also, you must be in a pretty small town. After Codex, there's, like, 10 minutes of music. |
You're right, I do seem to experience very specific feelings with their stuff.
And yes, I really do live in a tiny town. |
Admittedly, I wasn't too into this album at first. But after several listens a few tracks sold me, including "Bloom", "Feral", and especially "Separator". The looped drum beat, the very innocent and saccharine guitar line that comes in halfway through the track, and Thom's reverb drenched vocals are so great. The way he sings "if you think this is over, then you're wrong" just does it for me. This is one of the few Radiohead songs with a glimmer of optimism, and I'm so in love with this track.
Not by any means a brilliant album, but it's good. |
Of course it will be good. It is Radiohead after all. It's just you're going to consistantly compare their material to 'OK Computer' and 'The Bends'. This will never compare. Still an absolute sound trip mind. x

King of Limbs = No buys

Hmmm, this album is absolutely amazing. I hated it at first, did not like any of the songs apart from codex. This listen, I loved every song. Give up the ghost and codex surely are some of their best. I think a big plus is not having to hear Thom Yorke's annoying voice randomly sing things without any melody. Theres a lot less of that malarkey, and the instruments take much more of a focal point.
TKOL > In Rainbows, Amnesiac, Pablo Honey and Hail to the Theif. Maybe Kid A.....maybe. |
Maybe Kid A what? Exists?

Use your imagination.

I'm sorry, I have a policy against imagining what others are trying to articulate on internet forums.

Love this album. My favorite next to Kid A so I voted Brilliant.
