'The Daily Mail' and 'Staircase' are good too, Daily Mail being my favourite. Quote:
I actually like this album. Of course, it's a little too short, and it isn't nearly as good as some of Radiohead's other albums, but they have once again managed to reinvent themselves, which is one of the reasons they are so (insert swearword here, if you want) good. |

It surprises me that, after having owned TKoL for a few months, it has become my go to album, especially considering that I've never been much more than lukewarm towards Radiohead in general. I've been going back and revisiting their discography little by little and I just think I like their more electronic sound. I'm still not much for their more guitar driven/rock rhetoric, but I've gained a new appreciation for everything from Kid A on.

hi,
Whenever I think of Radiohead, first of all , I think of a band who is on a quest, on a search. You might say it is only the egotistic quest of a band field with the need to reproduce themselves under different angles, but that it seems to me already a lot to look for something else than only reproducing a scheme answering only to financial realities. Out of the King of limbs, Codex is maybe the track that brought me back the most to the radiohead I knew, with a thick fluid sound, unfolding a simple and quiet songwriting. But what i like about the album is a search of a fusion between the possibilities brought by a studio recording and the one brought by a live. It is in this fusion or search of a link between those 2 environments that I read the essence of the album. What do you think ? |
