If you're gonna make a blanket statement like "King of Limbs sucks. Plain and simple" give something to back up that statement. All you're actually saying by coming into this thread like that is that the band hasn't sounded the way you've wanted them to sound since the last album you liked, which is really not a commentary of the quality of the music of their latest release. It's just stating that you don't like the fact that they've evolved, which all great bands do.

No, that's not what I'm saying. I'm saying I don't like what they've evolved into. They don't have to sound like they did on The Bends in order for me to like their music. By saying that Kid A was their last good album, I meant that that was the last album where they actually sounded inspired. They have some good tunes on every album, but imo they haven't released a consistently good album since Kid A. Maybe I was a bit harsh, but that's how I feel. Granted, their mediocre music is still astronomically better than most of the crap that's out there; but I hold Radiohead to higher standards. King of Limbs is a huge disappointment.

It's weird for me because Radiohead doesn't interest me much. I gave their last couple albums one or two listens at most. So, I surprised myself when I was moved to listen to King of Limbs at all, and then actually thought it sounded better than just okay. I've even listened to it a few times since the first go around. Sorry for the confusion.

You know, this is pretty much exactly the way I'm feeling about them. I can't deny the artistry and musical endeavour, but I've found a lot of their stuff slightly boring for that reason. However, the King of Limbs album is a lot more interesting, and I voted "good" as well.

One thing that I really do appreciate about Radiohead is that they do tend to honor where they are musically. They've been a band that has consistently progressed and evolved without it ever seeming like they were trying to capture more of the market share. I still get a sense of that with King of Limbs, but I also get the sense of the band maybe being a little burned out. It's a good album; the compositions are great, but something feels flat, two-dimensional almost. I can't quite put my finger on it.
