Honestly, I've maybe only listened to King of Limbs three times. I'm just not that interested in it.

It's an album that slowly starts to grow on you the more you listen to it I think. At first I was still hoping for an album like In Rainbows, so my reaction was "...The hell is this crap?". After four or five listens, I started to like it.

my liking it was immediate

Hi,
this is my new post in this forum and i would like to say thanks for such a great forum i like the post so much i really appreciate this forum.. Thanks |
Have to say, this one has grown on me. Granted, it's more background music then anything else, and it's definitely not as great as Radiohead can be, but it's nice. It's upsetting that they didn't hold off on release and polish it up a bit, though, because the versions that they played on the From The Basement show were brilliant (and The Daily Mail may be better then anything on the album).

I think the thing that separates this album from the others the most is that it has the highest ambient appeal, far exceeding the most ambient tracks on Kid A, Amnesiac, or HTTT; i think it may also be one of their most experimental in production aspects, and how the sounds blend. It's come out to be right in the contention for my favorite album yet. Thank god it blows In Rainbows away so bad and counters it so well, i couldn't handle another flop like that.

your trippin if you think in rainbows was a flop
I don't need to justify that, its just true man :( |
I don't like Merriwether by Animal Collective either, i think they're both just too poppy and not challenging enough. I'll definitely give credit to 15 Step and Videotape, but the rest of the album is straight meh. I think the grammy was a gimme personally, just to give it to em for all the really good stuff they'd put out before it they hadn't gotten a Grammy for. KOL deserves it more though.
But Where's your science, anyway? |
