Nicki Minaj - Pink Friday

Really decent debut. She's got a surprisingly melodious voice in the choruses, and her rapping is top-notch. I dislike the track with Will.i.am in it too, even though it samples Video Killed The Radio Star, which is cool.
Is it just me or does she sorta sample Don't You Forget About Me on the track Blazin'? The "Hey hey hey ooooowhoa" part, know what I mean?

Yep , she sampled a few classics on this album which was pretty smart from a radio friendly stand point.

Don't you forget about me (Blazin')
No More I love yous from Annie Lennox (Your Love)
and the one you mentioned with Will.I.AM.

When I replay her album I usually skip over Roman's Revenge. The re-playability of that track isn't that great imo. I also skip Your Love. I skip over Fly because I don't want to hear Rhianna's voice.

Everything else I listen to though.

I really liked Your Love the first few times, but it's too catchy for it's own good. I like Roman's Revenge though.

She is too much of a character to really take seriously. It's more the novelty and fashionista as oppose to any musical talent. She has producers who chop and mess with her cadence a lot. Definitively has no identity that isn't based around marketing.
