When I heard this album it was just out of this world it was amazing. Kanye always create music that is always different to the other people in the Rap/Hip Hop industry. If you listen to some of artist in the same industry some of there songs sound the same but Kanye does not. OVERALL THIS ALBUM MASSIVE FAT 10 OUT OF 10

Don't think this album is as good as many people say it is. Maybe it just didn't work for me.
As with many other rap-albums, the lyrics are too generic for my taste, from empty bragging on "Monster" to love clichés on "Blame Game". Though the beats are well produced and sound good, the lyrics ruins it for me. Oh, and thank you, Janszoon, for posting that Can-song. I had never heard of them, but now I'm planning on buying Ege Bamyasi |

Be careful...getting into this band may turn you into a CAN head. They're worse than Dead Heads. *shiver* -CAN Head Ghost Jam |

I'm downloading Ege Bamyasi right now! Legally, of course. I've heard Radiohead's cover of "The Thief", and it's really good. It sounds like the band Alt-J have been influenced by them. They sound a little like each other. |

I just finished reading most of this thread re My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.
I'm certainly not what you would call a student of hip-hop, but as a long time fan of records such as It Takes a Nation of Millions..., Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), the Low End Theory, Illmatic, Reasonable Doubt, Madvillainy and Ready to Die to name a few...I'm willing to say I have my chops and something to say about hip-hop records. That said, I won't hesitate to place My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy smack in the middle of that list. It's a stunning record. It has its weaknesses, and they are appropriately addressed throughout this thread (i.e.; lyrically, vocally) as each of the above mentioned do as well, but as a whole the album can be considered a classic, without a doubt. I'll say more about it, as I think I'll use MBDTF as the subject for my first review on MB, but I find it difficult to argue against this album as being anything other than a masterpiece. -Motivated Ghost Jam |
