I have to say, this album really suprised me. There are things that I truly liked about the album, and things that I just really think.. Why? The first thing that I just don't get is why they made the songs so damn long? Length is good, but when it just turns to filling up time, it can get a bit boring and just starts the album off to a shaky start. When I listened to the first song, I thought, alright, it's a bit more progressive metal, but it was ok. I saw Maiden perform El Dorado live, and it is definitly a grower. This whole album is. I was anxious to listen to the so called "Epic" When the Wild Wind Blows. When I did, I was not feeling it, but after a couple of listens, I was singing along. You shouldn't expect a band to sound the same after 30 years, so I knew what to expect, especially after A Matter of Life and Death. Being a die-hard Maiden fan, I give it 8/10.

I was wondering about this album, I mentioned it in my journal.

I'm surprised Iron Maiden is still around and together.

That's what makes them great, after all these years that have passed, they still kick ass, especially live.

I'm a long time Maiden fan and while this album certainly is good by any musical standard, it's not something I'd have in rotation very often. I feel that Brave New World was the last one that really had the old magic to it.

Good-ass album. Really consistent with their stronger previous works. (very good)
