We're gonna set a record for most miss uses of "there/their" in one thread!

Who give a ****. Last time I checked this was a music forum not a reminder that we are not all English majors.

I give a ****? And if it bugs me then I'm probably not the only one...

I'm not a long-time fan or follower of the black keys but I've found myself jamming out to this album a lot! The first 3 tracks: Everlasting Light, Next Girl, and Tighten Up are my **** but then I kinda have a falling out with the album. Overall it's thick, chunky, and down right durtyy when it comes to classy grooves that feel like a blast from the past. It's good to see the "old-fashioned" trend coming into style over the Screamcore nonsense that's been going around.

Good examples of new "Old" grooves:

Ceelo Green's "**** You"
Anything by The Dead Weather or Raconteurs
Black Keys - "Thickfreakness" and "Brothers" (albums)
Last Shadow Puppets - (Alex Turner and Miles Kane) Recommend!
"That is Why" - Say Anything
"Antigravity" (Summer Love Song) - Incubus
Them Crooked Vultures

I'm a fan of a lot of that music! :thumb:

How many 75 minute albums do you love? The only albums I can think of off the top of my head that are over an hour long that I love are Blood Sugar Sex Magik and Double Nickels on the Dime, and those are the exceptions and not the rule...

There's probably a lot if you're talking double albums like Double Nickels. But 75 minutes for a single disc? That's a bit more rare I'd guess. Ænima from Tool or Frances the Mute from Mars Volta probably make it though.

Sorry it's taken months to reply, I don't come by very much.

I guess I can't say for sure if it's weird or not until I know if you liked the album in general. Actually, now I've got several questions and I ask because I am genuinely curious and I recognize arguing taste isn't going to accomplish much, but it is interesting. What is a good length for a blues rock record? And why should that vary (apparently) between genres? What is "too many songs"? 15 but not 14? 14 but not 13?

Blues rock is a very stripped-down, simple genre, especially the way the Black Keys play it. Brothers is a pretty good album that is weighed down by the last few tracks and hence its overall length. I think 40 minutes, like their two best albums, Thickfreakness and Rubber Factory, is ideal. This isn't prog...
