You might want to check out the album Mezzanine by Massive Attack, it's the first album I'd recommend to someone in your situation. That album has probably converted the most people to electronic music than any other.

Well, I like Daft Punk's Random Access Memories, but you know what's really good? ODESZA. Check out ODESZA's In Return and Summer's Gone.

Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, David Guetta, Hardwell, Calvin Harris, Afrojack, Nero, Deadmau5, Skrillex...those are just a few.

Been listening to Com Truise for quite a while now, and I'm in the mood to find more synthwave stuff like him. Lots of textured **** that sounds like it's right out of the late 70's and 80's. I guess Lazerhawk, Tycho, and Timecop1983 are all good artists, but I've been slacking in trying to find cds from them. And I want to know if there are any other artists that might be more underground that have that kind of sound.

The first Portishead record is perfection.

And Fortet - Rounds is amazing as well.

Portishead has definitely got a very unique sound, but is almost a little too chill for me. I'll do some more listening over the next few days of Dummy, and try to get into their style.
Four Tet seems to be a much more trippy kind of Tycho group, but with less synth driven sound and more real instrument feel, and a very 90's esque vibe. I'm trying to get into it, but that low-fidelity sound is hard to get used to if you're an audiophile, and crave all the details of the sound. Again, more listening to get into their stuff.
