That's not weird at all! I love when songs make you think of things like that. The very, very first song that came to mind was:

When I first heard it I thought of exactly what you described. Now for this one I actually thought of night time in front of Shop Rite when zombies were taking over the city (a dream I had as a kid)..that's probably why it's my absolute favorite Hard Tech track:

I get that feeling from this track as well although it's very different stylistically from the last 2:

Default need new electronica music

Alright guys, I am a pretty big music snob.. At this point I am not looking for anything generic, I am looking for things that are pretty wild and out of the box. I'm not looking for just a bunch of random samples, I like music with a flow to it. I'll give you a few of my favorite artists and you guys gotta point me in the right direction.

Ratatat
Flying Lotus
Samiyam
Prefuse 73
Big Gigantic
Sound tribe Sector 9
Gold panda

I also like electronica that is kind of jazzy, like Bonobo, Jaga Jazzist, and am looking for similar artists in this category as well.

thanks guys, you are my last hope

Perhaps you could try on some of the newer stuff from The Flashbulb

A good place to preview a lot of different Electronic music sub-genres is beatport.com
There's a multitude of artists and a lot of different sub-genres and thousands of songs... so it's a good place to get a feel for an Electronic music genre and find artists as well. The clips aren't very high-quality nor are they clips of the entire song, but they're well enough for you to zero in on a particular sound and narrow your scope.
Hope that helps.
cool site) where all you need fan of electronic music)

Ok so I'm in the process of upgrading my car audio system and I need some heavy electronic music to put it to the gauntlet. I'm thinking something along the line of State of Mind. There was also an album that Freebase Dali sent me called Spor, which is really ****ing raw, so something along those lines would be nice. Appreciate anything you guys can throw my way.

Spor is a Drum & Bass artist, and that album was a compilation I threw together of a bunch of different artists, including Spor. Any particular artists you liked most in that comp? If so, let me know and I'll shoot you some more.
If you're not too worried and dig the general sound, I can throw you the rawest, most disgusting and dirty electronic music I can muster up.

Let me know.

Btw, if anyone else wants to throw him stuff.. he's looking for heavy, raw, NOT Pendulum Drum & Bass, and possibly some rip-your-face-off Dubtep. Maybe even some Tearout Breaks. Aim for between 2002 - 2008 for the Drum & Bass and Breaks. Might even get away with some more recent stuff. Actually, you probably will. Just make sure it isn't Pendulum or anything that sounds like it. And stay away from the new Electro-Breaks that Nuskool has turned into, reminiscent of Alex Metric. Not what you're looking for. lol...

Yeah, the stuff that was on that comp was great. I definitely want something that thumps. I'm still trying to learn my way around the electronic music scene, so thanks for putting it into correct terminology.

But yeah, definitely send me some more stuff like on that comp if you can, the more raw the better. I honestly thought it was all the same artist on that comp though... lol@ my newb ass.

So you're only looking for Dubstep/Drum & Bass?

I want something that sounds like a semi loaded with subwoofers barrelling through the core of a nuclear power plant. Whatever you call it, I think Freebase worded it nicely. But yeah, I guess the stuff I'm looking for is considered D&B, but I'm looking for some hardcore **** here. Like I said, I'm trying to put an audio system to the ultimate test... so keep that in mind. But whatever you guys have to recommend would be greatly appreciated.
