What I couldn't recommend enough (again, if you don't already have them) are the A Brief History Of Ambient compilations - veers nicely from the more popular to the obscure, accessible to avante-garde, and also draws in elements of dub reggae, prog, jazz and world fusion. There are 5 or 6 of them, and they're all out of print so looking around online's the best bet. If you want some links, just drop me a PM I'll send you the blog they're all on. |

all i have of Higher Intelligence Agency are the two live albums they did with Biosphere. i'll look into more.
those comps sound nice, i'll track those down too it looks like there are only 4. don't need links though, i'll get them in flac... want to also get into Tangerine Dream, but they just have too many albums. i have a horrible need to collect full discographies, and that's one artist i can't bring myself to dive into!

As Tangerine Dream, Rubycon and Phaedra are my favourites by a long shot, so I'd recommend starting there. Jackhammer has their entire discography (or somewhere near it), so he'd know a lot better than me though. |

listening to Colourform at the moment, and i'm enjoying it quite a lot. i just went ahead and grabbed everything he's been involved with. i write for a living, and this kind of music is just perfect for plugging into while i'm at work.
also grabbed the Brief History Of Ambient series, but that was before i left for work, so they're sitting on my home computer. will listen later. as for TD, i've heard Phaedra mentioned a lot so i'll start with that, see where it goes

There are so many different types of electronic music that i feel I must recommend a few and try to cover a few different styles of this vast genre.
1. DeadMau5 (House and some Trance) -Strobe -Ghosts N Stuff ft. Rob Swire -Arguru 2. Bassnectar ( Break beat / heavy bass) -Blow (ft. Kyrian) -Boombox -Some Sing (STS9 remix) 3. Caspa and Rusko (Dubstep) -Day N Night (Kid Kudi Remix) -Way of the Dub |

Umm this will sound very very weird but I'm looking for music that conjures images of dark empty city roads at night, tall black shiny skyscrapers, underground parking lots, empty alleyways, cold pavement under the moon and grey clouds, blinking towers... like a silent mysterious night-city in black. Anything like that if that makes sense to you. I'd prefer something mostly instrumental.
