Having to trawl through a list of bands that a very select few will give the time to listen to? I could list a load of bands but I know no one would listen to them.

I know you would listen though Luke ...and a few names on vinylhasmorefun's list that get my vote (except Justice who are absolute tosh). I will keep it open for now.

I know a lot of people don't dig Justice, and I agree they aren't the BEST electronic band out there, I just think they are tons of fun..Danger is better, though.

The problem with this thread, is that there are too many distinctly DIFFERENT forms of Electronica. It's like comparing Heavy Metal to Classical. Ambient to Progressive House, or even Jungle, are a range that many people can't cross over. I enjoy a little Ambient, in small doses, and would recommend the classics like Jean Michel Jarre, but really get into the Progressive House stuff. BT, Oakenfold, Paul Van Dyk, are all good... but when it comes to remixers, I'm a true blue Matt Darey fan. Anything he mixes, or remixes for that matter, gives me chills.
A good one to start with, is CHICANE. There is a little bit of both worlds, in his music. Tasty stuff. |
