Tipper, The Flashbulb, Chris Clark, Aphex Twin, pretty much any IDM act you can think of will have some similarities to everything Autechre has done. You might need to be more specific if you're looking for a particular sort of sound.

I love it, too! You should check out a mix I recently heard with that song as the first track!! I didn't think to listen to the original, but it is really lovely, huh. :)

sillysillymary 02-20-2013 08:27 PM

Cool!!!! Thanks for sharing that mix.

misspoptart 02-21-2013 03:51 AM

You're very welcome. His channel on youtube is absolutely great. It's a go-to for whenever I'm looking for something new in the chillstep scene, especially. :)

"Overstimulated" by Gravity Music....

But good luck finding it, from what I remember it's one of the greatest Electronica/Drum N' Bass songs EVER!

In these last few years I’m having a hard time trying to find new electronic music that I like.
(I used to love artists like the Chemical Brothers and The prodigy but I’m afraid they’ve ran out of ideas)
These are some of the (non big beat) albums that I enjoy listening to the most:
The Avalanches: Since I left you
Daft Punk: Alive 2007
Tipper: Wobble factor
Star Slinger: Volume 1
Any suggestions ?

It's a wake up from your usual. You'll hate it. I think. I hope.

Thanks for the suggestion..... but I checked a few of their videos on youtube and it sounded a little to pop for my taste!
I was hoping for something more like this:

Im not much into Techno so I don't know much about it, figured people on here would be the experts on it. Here is 2 examples of songs I like:

A.M.R feat Ai Takekawa - Beyond The Moon (Ministry of Sound TV)
(cant link youtube video, post count)

I like this kind of music with its smooth beat and slowish bass. Also the echo sound it gives off is great. I also like how it goes from a somewhat quick pace to a slow one and then back up again. The singer style is awesome too. The coolest thing I hear is the irish like sound starting at :32. Any other examples of this style music?

Here's another:

Simon O'Shine - Your Distant World (Original Mix)

This one is great to me because of its pace. I like how it is almost like a more uplifting tune. when it starts to go down at around 2:25, I like that too. The tones in both song are I guess what make me like them so much. Any info or examples of others artists or songs like these would be great. Thanks guys.

Anyone in the Midwest/Central areas should DEFINITELY check out Electric Forest Music Festival this year. It's in Rothbury, Michigan and brings a whoooole bunch of great electronic music to the table. Artists like Pretty Lights, Knife Party, Benny Benassi, Madeon, A-Trak and a lot more!!! This year they also have awesome VIP Packages, including but not limited to the VILLAGE where you get private camping, showers and bathrooms, private food vendors, free happy hour and a Welcoming Party Wednesday night including food booze and music! Definitely worth looking in to :)

youtube .com/watch?v=1HUyW8_Egxs

Thanks

Vcaelum 03-27-2013 04:12 PM

hey anyone heard "Beat of My Heart" by Chris Caddell, i think it just came out??

crazed 03-29-2013 10:38 AM

A few new recommendations: Matmos' "The Marriage of True Minds" (with vocals this time round, still I liked it very much), Autechre's "Exai", (double cd set is exhausting but worth the effort), and Maxmillion Dunbar's "House of Woo" (if you like house/techno and a mish-mash of other sub-genres, I find it a lot of fun).

Zebras 03-30-2013 07:14 PM

This might be one of the best live sets I have seen in my life. It's like, Jon Hopkins meets Amon Tobin meets Hybrid meets Boards of Canada meets Four Tet meets Tim Exile. Absolutely unbelievable.

Enjoying the Incubation by Function (Dave Sumner) album. I never did hear any of his work with Sandwell District but I can recommend this solo release.

He's not just Dubstep he incorporates Glitch music

Want to share my passion.

Hello tharr!

I've spent alot of hours in this playlist (Spotify is required).

And I'd like to bring my taste out to others, whom might find it interesting.

This playlist is composed of Trance of many sub-generes and house music.
It's mostly good rythm and minimal mess (like too much layers).
Alot of vocal or deep house music. Some on the edge of other generes also.
Only the best of the best in my opinion, and it's updated once in a while.

Check it out and give me a thought if you like it :finger:

I'm looking for some drum & bass but with a bit of an ambient or heavily atmospheric feel to it. Any album recommendations?

Right off the bat I'd recommend Photek's Modus Operandi. It's an older release (1997) and one of my favorites in this category.

Scarlett O'Hara 05-04-2013 03:59 PM

A nice soaring techno track with female vocals.

crazed 05-05-2013 12:00 PM

The new James Blake album is excellent.

Devore Synchros 05-06-2013 06:23 AM

I make electronic music, im rather new to it though. My stuff seems terrible compared to these guys :/. If you want to check it out though just search Devore Synchros on youtube.

Will check it out. Cheers!

PunkKitten138 05-06-2013 01:11 PM

I dont know if it has been said before or not (theres rather a lot of pages to click threw and read) So im sorry if it has been said.

Blaqk Audio is one of my favorite Electronic bands... anything off of sex cells is amazing. You might have heard their song "Stiff Kittens" in the Rise of the Lycans movie.

Janszoon 05-06-2013 10:19 PM

Anybody have any recommendations for slow, menacing electronic music? Something with kind of an off-kilter sound would be ideal. Nothing too ambient.
