I would like very little music if I judged it by what its maker had produced before. The fact that Demon Days and s/t are good albums have no bearing on the fact this that one is only Average to me.

To me Plastic Beach is the worst music that Albarn has published since Blur - and I don't like Blur much.

I wonder what Mark E. Smith fans think of his appearance. I mean, obviously it's just a phoned in vocal sample - why'd he do it?
The more I listen to this album the less I like it..

i think the biggest reason people aren't liking it, is cause alburn took away one of his best qualities in gorillaz: mixture of acoustic and electronic instruments, this album is mostly only electronic.

"Broken' is a good song

I figured that was the reason. I quite enjoy it, though...he could only do so much with the electronic/acoustic thing. Looking at the progression from the s/t to Demon Days to this, it was bound to happen.

It's not at all the reason that I don't like it - I love electronic music.
Of course it has to go somewhere..to me Plastic Beach doesn't.

Mark E Smith being the contrarian that he is, he probably saw it as easy money for zero work, plus an easy plug for himself and his own work.

For those who want the bonus tracks that were on the deluxe edition, sent me a PM. The 2 bonus tracks are just orchestral songs, but they are very good, and I think is a nice way to end the album, rather than just Pirate Jet.

One of these days I'll finally get around to listening to the whole thing, but the first four tracks just did not draw me in and after I realized I've already been listening for 20 minutes with 12 more tracks to go, I shake my head and turn it off.

White Flag and Stylo are the only tracks really doing it for me. I'd say it did really well among critics because the Gorillaz are already a very critically acclaimed band.

I voted average. I didn't hate any of it, but really didn't love much of it either

I've only heard half of it once but it's grabbed me already - I'm keen to hear the rest. And how awesome is Superfast Jellyfish?!?

... And where's north from here?
