Alrighty, sorry for posting this a few days late.

I'm listening to it now for the first time, and I notice a lot more effects and hip hop influences than previous albums. Not a bad thing by any means. It's still Matisyahu and it still kicks ass.

I saw this guy on Conan the other night.
I thought he was alright, if a little bit cliche. But I'll give this a listen regardless.

Aw you little bugger I was gonna make a thread for this album. I gave it a good listen yesterday morning and I have to say I was a big fan of it, wasn't as good as his debut album but it certainly did stand up well on it's on. I was fortunate enough to see him play live back in June and he played a good portion of this album during that show so I had a good idea of what to expect. I liked it enough to include one of his songs on my newest mix. I can really respect him because while his music is overly religious, I don't find it preachy (mostly) or condescending, which is a something most artists fail to do.

I listened to this album, and I liked it a lot too. I can't shake the feeling that it's a little too poppy/less organic than it should be, but it's definitely a great album. Production is especially solid.

I really don't like the first three tracks. Instead of expanding upon that angry Rock-Reggae vibe he has gone for a wholly commercial electronic tinged sound which is a damn shame. However the album picks up well in the second half and it is still solid lyrically.

My vote goes to "Very Good". I agree with Jackhammer that the album was too electronic and commercial in places, but I know what he was going for and he pulled it off very well. Some very catchy tunes on here, "Darkness Into Light" has become a favorite of mine.

Verdict: Not as good as Youth, but a very fun and engaging listen.

Definatley an excellent. Yes some of it was overproduced, but by no means generic or commercial. And I think the opening track, Smash Lies, was one of the best. Definatley one of my top albums of 09/

Really? I thought the first three were completely over-produced and very generic.
