Yeah Yeah Yeah's - It's Blitz!
1 Zero 2 Heads Will Roll 3 Soft Shock 4 Skeletons 5 Dull Life 6 Shame and Fortune 7 Runaway 8 Dragon Queen 9 Hysteric 10 Little Shadow Official Release Date: 14th April 2009 |
I've only listened through once
thought it was pretty good still prefer isis though |
Apart from Zero which has really grown on me nothing has really caught me yet, i'll keep pushing though as Show Your Bones didn't catch me at first and i think it's a classic now.
|
I liked about half of it (soft shock is my favorite) but it took me a while to get used to the polished electronic sound ( since at the time of listening i was mainly listening to old hardcore punk ), but overall its good, but i don't think the YYY's will ever release an album as good as Show Your Bones again.

I'll go with Very Good. I like it more then their previous work. I love Heads Will Roll though.
|
A definite artistic step forward for the band.

Dull life, and the acoustic version of Skeletons are my fav's. Most undboubtedly deserve's a great rating.

Very good, although I am not sure why 80's synth pop/new wave is making a comeback in "indie" (whatever that means these days) circles, most prominently with the recent love it/hate it "Killers" album, but also, for example, with the new Animal Collective CD. (Would the Killers still be considered "indie," judging from the incessant play they receive on MTV/VH1? Were they ever really indie?) In this regard, most of the like/dislike of the Killers' recent work seems to rest on this its aesthetics: listeners either think its 80's synth pop inflection is an abomination or that it's the best thing around.
I'm not yet sure if I appreciate the new wave inflection on "It's Blitz!", but I'll certainly give this album a chance. |
I like the style switchup. It may not work on a few tracks but its definetly not a disaster. I will always be used to their more distorted garage band sound.
3.5/5 |
I dug this album. Not as great as "Fever to Tell", but I didn't expect them to ever do better.
Very good. |
I love this album it's just a great collection of songs that are very unique.
Fever to Tell looks like it's never going to duplicated along with the other albums the yeah yeah yeah's have produced but this can be a good thing and keep the music industry on their toes. |
It's pretty bland. I mean, for example, Zero sounds ok, but it just feels... Flat. It has nothing on the emotion in both previous albums. The only song that is entering my "Best Of" from this one is prolly Heads will Roll, and if it was released in SYB or FTT it would be considered average+ at best. IMO, of course.

It's been a while since I listened to this album but I think it's pretty good. It's the only YYYs album I own so I can't compare it to their previous stuff. But all in all, it's definitely worth the listen.
