Yeah Yeah Yeah's - It's Blitz! (electronic, hardcore, indie, pop)

Very good, although I am not sure why 80's synth pop/new wave is making a comeback in "indie" (whatever that means these days) circles, most prominently with the recent love it/hate it "Killers" album, but also, for example, with the new Animal Collective CD. (Would the Killers still be considered "indie," judging from the incessant play they receive on MTV/VH1? Were they ever really indie?) In this regard, most of the like/dislike of the Killers' recent work seems to rest on this its aesthetics: listeners either think its 80's synth pop inflection is an abomination or that it's the best thing around.

I'm not yet sure if I appreciate the new wave inflection on "It's Blitz!", but I'll certainly give this album a chance.
