Paranoid is a complete tune actually, i may have to give it a listen.
|
Poor.
Two or three songs are good. |
Does anyone else hear New Order?
|
I've listened to Love Lockdown, Welcome to Heartbreak and Paranoid and they're all pretty solid, very catchy and well produced. But there is absolutely no diversity between the songs, and I couldn't stand a whole album in this one style.
|
The only thing I really liked about Welcome To Heartbreak is that it had Kid Cudi
|
I've only heard Love Lockdown, it wasn't very good either, way overdone. I really liked KanYe's first two albums, but Graduation was such a dissapointment, I'm not sure whether I'll bother to check this out or not.
|
I wouldn't.
It's not rap/hip-hop at all. It all sounds like Love Lockdown. BUT, if it makes it any better, KanYe's next album will be Rap/Hip-Hop again. |
I voted poor. I've liked everything Kanye has put out before, but all the songs sound exactly the same to me on this.
|
You know what, i used to fucking despise Kanye but i found myself listening to this and enjoying it! Life is crazy sometimes.
It's not a massively consistent album by any means and as previously mentioned it is largely the same style throughout but there's no doubt some tunes here. Paranoid's still my fave, Love Lockdown and Robocop are highlights too. Gets an average from me and thats a victory in my eyes. |
I'm not a huge fan of his. But I did hear these and I wasn't impressed.
|
Give up Kanye!
Did anyone see Colbert the other night? He called Kanye a "sunglasses display manequin". Colbert did more damage to Kayne in 3mins than 50cent ever could. Colbertnation | The Colbert Report Official Site | Comedy Central |
Stephen Colbert could release an album better than this.
Awful. |
The album is a masterpiece, just like everything else Kanye has released. People just hate to hate and one thing I have found here is that most people try to like whatever is most obscure, not what is actually quality.
Best track is definitely Robocop |
We don't hate it because it's KanYe.
We hate it because almost ever track sounds the same. We hate it because this isn't KanYe. We hate it because he's trying to cash in on the Auto-Tune before it's out of style. |
I would have liked this better if he just released it as a 52 minute single.
|
Ungh
very repative not much change in sound and why does each track go on like a minute after hes stopped singing we call that wasted air can handle a couple of songs

But Love Lockdown sounds like Kanye's been listening to old Delta Blues and Philip Glass (minimalist) too much. lol Its an odd marriage of styles with his own but this song is catchy. Of course, I also like listening to Bagpipe and Drum Corps recordings so take my opinion with a grain of salt. |
Why did he release the two worst songs as singles?
|
Love lockdown
No i would agree some songs are catchy and I do like love lockdown and I have replayed heartless more and more and like it but problem is there as good as this album gets it starts and finishs with the singles for me

My buddy asked if I'd heard the new Kanye single Love Lockdown, I listened and couldn't finish the song cause cheese was clogging my ears. She then asked if I heard the other new single Heartless, gave it a listen, once again couldn't finish it. Then she told me to hear the song from the album with Kid Cudi called Welcome to Heartbreak, couldn't stomach that either. I couldn't tell if these songs were for serious so I googled the album.
Turns out the album is called 808s & Heartbreak AND the cover is an image of a broken heart. Barf. Basically, I hate this album. |
Kid Cudi's awesome, though.
I'd recommend his mixtape "A Kid Named Cudi" |
Not a bad album, but i never really liked his later work
|
Heartless is okay on further listen.
|
SInce he was on the album this could be semi-on-topic.
FaSho, have you listened to Kid Cudi's mixtape "A Kid Named Cudi" |
Nooooo
I'll get on that. |
Personally this album was pathetic. As if the mans head isnt big enough. Now after being the self proclaimed voice of todays generation he will rise to an even higher status. He needs to shut the **** up and stick to making good beats and actually flowing over them. This is the most mainstream conformist bull**** he could possibly put out.
What happened to Graduation and College Dropout? Well there goes a large part of his fanbase including me thanks to this new wonderful album. He can enjoy having them replaced by 12-13 year old girls watching television. **** you Kanye West, I used to respect you and enjoy your music and now you leave me listening to nothing. |

He only did it for the money, before EVERYONE was tired of Auto-Tune, and it worked.
I think he's smart. |

So yes kicking him to the curb works for me. A sold out ego tripping has been. Quote:

I forgot about how much I hate censorship. Welcome back to MusicBanter.
|
one word: disappointment
|
For me most of the album was mediocre, but the song RoboCop was phenomenal.
