I can see one reason why whe would do that. Let's say that she signed a contract for a certain number of live concerts, then lost her voice. Looing your voice probably happens frequently among pop stars. What can she do, can't cancell she has a contract to do the performances but she can't sing a note. Lip sync it, hopefully everyone will be happy and she can explain afterwards.

Well she definitely can't sing...live or in the studio...lol but I have to give it to her--she has an undeniable fan base and used to dance EXTREMELY well....soo...in her prime she was never a "singer" but rather a "performer"....I guess I have to respect that.

Thank you irreplacable418. I am a HUGE fan of Britney Spears (:S do I wanna admit that), but I can say she is a hell of a preformer and almost nothing but that. If I was looking for vocals I turn to Celine Dion or Christina Aguilera.
But as for Britney Spears, her "comeback" album has already made a huge hit, as womanizer made it to number one on both itune and the billboard charts. Some will say she appeals to mainstream zombies, and if that's the case, then I'd glady say I'm a mainstream zombie (lol). I think her Blackout album (which was made in the darkest pit in her life) was actually the best one so far. :S it's strange, but I guess when you're in pain you project the loudest. I loved almost every beat of that album. I'm still trying to get used to Circus, but I don't think it's gonna be another Blackout.

Eh, who cares about Spears at this point? Her performances over the last year have been lackluster at best and her music, even back during her peak, is only catchy to people who haven't listened to anything but pop and radio R&B, and as a result will tell you its the best crap ever even when it's not.
Also, assuming if she does get her "comeback" rolling with her new album, the second she gets caught doing some kind of stupid sh1t, I can guarantee the media will turn her back into a dartboard and force her into rehab again. Maybe then she'll actually try living a normal life and seek out something real to make her happy.

I'm just trying to figure out why you guys think she's a good performer. Her dancing is certainly nothing special. Most of what she does on-stage is to showcase her body, which I can't really blame her for, but I wouldn't call it a great performance.

I am not a Britney Spears fan, though I remember her being really popular when I was 11 or 12. I do happen to like the song "Lucky" though I wouldn't call it catchy. However, I will admit that I found the two songs, "Gimme More" and "Piece of Me" so catchy that I downloaded the "Blackout" album so I could listen to them. D:
