Undecided, because I don't know how to judge this. Holding it to Bright Eyes standards, it's average. Conor really tried to establish some merit as a folksy country singer with this, and the more I listen to it the more I think he did a good job with it...even though he's taking like a 180 with his music. It's like he took at step backwards from Cassadaga to make the missing album inbetween that and I'm Wide Awake..
The Mystic Valley band did a great job backing him though, I Don't Want to Die (in a hospital), NYC, Milk Thistle, and Cape Canaveral are favorites so far. |

I'm seeing him this Thursday but I'm feeling too off to listen to anything at the moment. I gave it one listen when it first leaked and I thought it was fluent enough, so I guess we'll so what happens. It's definitely more coherent overall compared to cassadaga, although the fact he didn't use the BE brand kind of hints he may not be too happy with it. For me at least.
