The single is fantastic I'm so glad they've branched out even if it's to sound like Animal Collective. They have a track sung in english here too! Comes out between June 20-24th depending on where you live.

Default Sigur Ros- Með Suð í Eyrum Við Spilum Endalaust

I just got a hold of Sigur Ros's new album, titled, "Með Suð í Eyrum Við Spilum Endalaust" today. I've listened to it a few times already and I am, again, completely blown away by them. These guys know how to make such beautiful music. Has anyone else heard this yet? If so, thoughts? Opinions?

I think it transcends everything they've done before, they've definitely found their sound. You get the quick thrill rides from takk engulfed with the ethereal mysticism of agaetis and the cover is the **** buddy for the perfect night in.

The opening track is so odd. It sounds like a Sung Tongs track but it's unmistakably Sigur Ros but as the album progresses it becomes more and more familiar except at the end when what's that we hear? English! I don't really have much to say on this because I agree with pheurton. Ára bátur is definintely the stand out for me. I vote excellent, this is definitely going to be high up on my best of 08 list.

I had given it 3 listens through and wow...It's exceptionally different from their previous albums. My favorite album on this is probably goobledigook, I have to disagree with the above comments on it being a weird track, but maybe it's because I'm weird.

I swear this album could cure insomnia, it's an absolute snoozefest in the second half. Gobbledi**** really is a strange track but it's an exception to the rule, they soon settle in familiar territory, only, instead of the majestic, celestial, dramatic soundscapes of Takk, this album seems to be stripped down to the basics. Most of it is just the lead singer singing quietly accompanied by a single instrument, like a piano or a guitar (maybe a quiet string section or two). The only real standout track for me is Godan daginn which is stunning. The rest is unremarkable...I'll give it a few more shots, only because I think Takk is a modern day masterpiece and Heima is an incredible piece of film, but it doesn't look promising. :\
