Cat Power? Danger Mouse? Hell yeah, it's supposed to come out later this month too so I'm surprised by the lack of information on it (only five tracks announced?) This looks to be the best Beck album since Sea Change too. I've been following this so I'll keep this thread updated.

Review time!
Well, it's pleasant. By no means is it a bad album, it's quite easy to listen to, nothing challenging, and you could probably put it on without your mates complaining much. But that's about it really. I just don't really want to listen to this when there's plenty more stuff out there which is more interesting and strives to do more. Like with Odelay, i want the songs to come at me and make me go 'woah!', here very little stands out. One i do like is Soul Of a Man, while it does sound a bit like The Kills - Fried My Little Brains that's a great bassline. Maybe i'll listen to it a bit more in the future but like i said, why do that when i could spend some time finding something which takes some risks? |

I'd say it's pretty good. Upon the first few listens I thought it was rather average, but the more I listened the more tracks started to stand out. The immediate favorite was Profanity prayers. I also like, Chemtrails, Modern guilt, Walls, Orphans is growing on me etc. It's the most cohesive album he's made in a while so you don't really get tired of it halfway through (unlike The Information or Guerro) but I can't say it's as good as his last. The first half of The Information was pretty spectacular (and immediate). Some have said this one is more akin to Sea change and I can see that, it does seem to be much more mellow than the previous two albums, which isn't really bad I guess because Danger mouse does his thing impeccably. I also can't help but feel that a lot of the material sounds kind of recycled (Youthless kinda sounds like Cellphone's dead no?).
So yeah, I vote Very good.
