So yeah, I vote Very good.
Its a fantastic album but I do see that in it. Not really disappointing though because Cellphone's Dead is good itself.

The answer I'd like to respond with is "good", not "average" and not "very good."

So far I like it, but it didn't jump at me or anything.

Couple real good tracks I like "Profanity Prayers", "Walls", "Modern Guilt" and "Soul of a Man" a lot.

Has the potential to be in the top three Beck albums...? Maybe? I don't know yet.

Eh, I only like three tracks. I wonder if he'll play anything from this when I see him at the Outside Lands festival.

First listen gets a 'Good' from me. Does'nt immediately jump out at you but it has the potential to be a real grower. 'Replica' is a great tune.

This album growing on anyone else?

Aside from a few tracks that are still a little dicey I am really starting to appreciate the sum of these parts.

Modern Guilt, Soul of Man and Profanity Prayers are getting multiple individual plays a day. Youthless and Gamma Ray are really growing on me and Walls is still awesome too.

How under appreciated is Beck?

When he's on his game, he's a top five artist of the past decade and change. Mellow Gold, Odelay and Modern Guilt might be my top three albums. Feels that way right now.

The problem with this album is simple: As a Beck album it is merely average. As a genre album it is better than 90% of the dross out there. He set himself such high standards early on, it is hard to be completely blown away by his material. However this is still getting plenty of airplay at work and it pisses all over the 'Other' recent big release which is Coldplays latest.
